Dual color design differentiates the metric and Imperial sides. On the Imperial side, each line is even marked in 1/4" , 1/8" and 1/16" against a blue background so there is no guessing or counting lines. On the metric side, the millimeter hash marks rise and fall, making it easy to identify the measurements against the black background.
